Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has accused the family of former Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, of greed.
According to Gistlover, Akeredolu died on Wednesday in a German hospital from long-term prostate cancer.
Speaking on Arise News on Thursday evening, Sowore accused the late governor's son and wife of acting selfishly by taking advantage of the late governor's vulnerability.
Furthermore, the human rights lawyer disputed the state government’s claim that the former governor of Ondo had died in Germany.
He alleged that the former governor of Ondo did not die in Germany as stated by the state government.
He said: “Akeredolu's wife and son used the vulnerable condition of the late governor to capitalize on their greed.
'Now we find out that Akeredolu did not die in Germany. They all lie; he died in Germany.
Further, Sowore said the late Akeredolu did not follow the constitution when he handed over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa when he first traveled to Germany.
He said: “The Constitution was not adhered to in handing over power to the Deputy Governor.
“A year ago, a lot would have been resolved because there was already evidence that the governor was unlikely to make it.”
