It has been four weeks since the abrupt and baffling passing of renowned musician Mohbad, who tragically died on September 12, aged just 27.
The sudden death sent a shockwave through the nation, leaving those in the showbiz world, including his peers and followers, seeking answers.
An update on the ongoing police investigation was provided by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa. He shared some details of their findings, including key information about Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse suspected in Mohbad’s abrupt death. The police speculate Mohbad’s death was due to an injection given by this nurse.
In a recent turn of events, Feyisayo Ogedengbe’s mother has publicly implored Nigerians for their assistance. She ardently maintained her daughter’s innocence, claiming that Feyisayo, who is a qualified assistant nurse, was merely rendering medical aid to Mohbad’s friend, the person who originaly sought Feyisayo’s help. She further explained, “Feyisayo has been tending to Spending (Mohbad’s friend) for a long time as she is a skilled assistant nurse.
When Mohbad needed medical attention, Spending asked Feyi to treat his friend who had a cut on his hand, and so my daughter complied. She came across Mohbad’s wife, his younger sibling, his aide, and his peer. Feyi assured that the medication she administered to Mohbad – Paracetamol, antibiotics and anti-tetanus, couldn’t have been lethal. My daughter has not been declared wanted by the police. I personally took her to the station, only for her to be taken into custody. She has now been held for over 23 days with law enforcement refusing to release her until the post-mortem results are in.
We were told the autopsy was conducted overseas and the results would take some time. Fellow Nigerians, I implore your help. I am a single mother and they are trying to implicate my daughter. I sense underhand tactics surrounding Mohbad’s death.”
