The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Bala Mohammed as Governor of Bauchi State.
Sadique Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress candidate for governor of the state, tried to remove Mohammed from office in two lower courts, but his efforts were unsuccessful.
Abubakar had alleged in both courts that widespread violations of the Electoral Act had taken place during the voting.
His appeal to the Court of Appeal and petition to the Tribunal were both dismissed for lack of merit.
According to the rulings of the two courts, he could not prove that his claims were true.
Judge Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed the appeal as unfounded after ruling on all six of the appellant's arguments in the main opinion on Friday.
