On Wednesday, the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal filed by the Social Democratic Party and Umar Ardo, the party's candidate for Adamawa governorship.
This happened after the candidate's lawyer begged the court to drop the lawsuit.
The appeal was later dismissed by the five-member panel led by John Okoro.
Ardo's petition challenging Ahmadu Fintiri's victory was dismissed by the Court of Appeal in Abuja. As a result, Fintiri is now facing an appeal from the All Progressives Congress, which filed it on behalf of its candidate, Aishatu Dahiru, who is seeking to be appointed governor of the state.
