“This is the 34th year in a row that Africa has been the destination of the annual first foreign visit of Chinese foreign ministers.

“This year, FOCAC will meet again. Egypt, Tunisia, Togo and Ivory Coast are all friendly partners of China.

“The purpose of the Foreign Minister's visit is to carry out the follow-ups of the China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue and compare notes on the 2024 FOCA with the African side.

“The visit is also aimed at continuing the traditional friendship between China and Africa and consolidating the momentum of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation,” the ministry said.
