Court today decides Mbah’s fate in a charge of forgery of NYSC certificates

On Monday, the Federal High Court in Abuja will decide the case alleging that Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, forged his certificates.

Governor Mbah is suspected to have forged his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) diploma.

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court will decide a lawsuit filed by the governor against NYSC to refute the allegations against him.

According to a notice of judgment ruling, the lawsuit with file number FHC/ABJ/CS/1611/2023 would deliver judgment within a few hours.

At the time of filing this report, supporters of the Governor of Enugu State had invaded the courthouse to watch the proceedings.

Before taking office on May 29, Governor Mbah filed a lawsuit against the NYSC and Ibrahim Muhammad, the Director of Corps Certification, for posting a disclaimer stating that he would not receive a clearance certificate on January 6, 2003.

On May 15, Justice Ekwo issued an order restraining Mohammed, the NYSC and all their representatives from publishing anything of the kind in the future while the main case was being heard and decided.

Governor Mbah could lose his job if the court finds him guilty of forging his NYSC certificate on Monday.
