An unauthorized audio tape involving Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel) and their presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has been declared false by the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council.
The secret tape that emerged on the night of April 1, 2023, allegedly portrays Obi and Oyedepo strategizing on how to motivate Christian voters in the South-West and North-Central provinces that include Kwara, Kogi, and Niger to cast their votes.
The covert audio conversation was categorized by Diran Onifade, the Chief of Media and Communications for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, as one of the countless concoctions that the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) is infamous for.

“Evidently, the All Progressives Congress’ eagerness to attain and maintain power through aggressive tactics hasn’t subsided, even over a month after they claimed election victory as planned.
“As we tread the legitimate route to reclaim our mandate, those who have violated the desires of most Nigerians have opted for deception and boundless stratagems to cling to what they know doesn’t rightfully belong to them.
“From the embarrassing spectacle in Port Harcourt to the Ibom Air incident, both of which they orchestrated, they have now resorted to circulating a fraudulent audio file aimed at inciting religious discord in the nation.
“All these are aimed at nothing more than explicit trickery intended to discredit Peter Obi. If the intention is to undermine credibility, this ploy has spectacularly failed.
“For ages, Peter Obi has been recognized as the unique presidential contender who has implored Nigerian voters not to cast ballots for him based solely on religion or ethnicity.
“We therefore urge all Nigerians to stay concentrated on the mission of recapturing the mandate we are convinced was generously and legally granted to Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed.
“This is more critical than expecting those who coordinated elections on the basis of falsified qualifications and ineffective bishops to refrain from using the same tactics. They are unable to abstain from dishonesty because that is their nature.”
