The former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, has asked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to authorize the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to discharge his duties to feed.
According to Beke, investors are leaving the state every day due to the ongoing crisis.
The former APC chairman, in an interview on Arise TV, warned Wike against destroying the APC like he did with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said: “Fubara has been elected Governor of Rivers State. Wike must allow Fubara to carry out the mandate given to him by the Rivers people.
“The state legislators who said they joined the party, there is a process for them; if you want to join a party, you start from your unit. Are we in an anarchy where people don't want to follow a process?
“If they don't want to do governance, they should stop and not cheat the people. You go to your unit, department and then to state. You cannot just stand up and say you are going from PDP to APC.
“Sim Fubara is Governor of Rivers State and they should let him rule, let there be peace. During Wike's last eight years, there were too many crises in the state. Is this what we'll be returning to in another eight years?
“Fubara is governor, so they have to let him function. It's not about the party, it's about the board. Investors leave the state every day due to one crisis or another.
“He must face his assignment in Abuja and allow Rivers peace. He destroyed PDP, he wants to destroy APC?”
