The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has commended the decision of the Court of Appeal upholding the ruling of the Kaduna State Election Petitions Tribunal, which had earlier upheld his victory in the 2023 governorship election, dismissing the petition against him turned down.
Following the decision of the Court of Appeal on Friday in Abuja, Governor Sani called the decision a “testament to the strength of our legal institutions, a victory for democracy and an affirmation of the will of the people,” according to a statement by the head of the governor. press secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu.
Besides expressing his happiness and gratitude that the Court of Appeal had upheld his election victory, Governor Sani reached out to all opposition parties in a bid to move Kaduna State forward along with the #SUSTAINKaduna Agenda.
“Today I received the news of the Court of Appeal ruling. I acknowledge and appreciate the diligence and thoroughness of the Kaduna State Elections Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal in reaching this judgment today.
“I have always remained confident in our legal process. It is now time to move forward peacefully and continue to work diligently for the people of Kaduna without distraction as the task ahead is enormous.
“The Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe and my humble self appreciate the All Progressives Congress family and the good people of Kaduna for their unwavering support throughout this process,” he stated.
Governor Sani therefore promised to continue to encourage dialogue with stakeholders and to maintain an open-door policy.
