MI revealed that he went through a terrible breakup with his previous girlfriend before meeting his wife.
The rapper claimed that after trying unsuccessfully to patch things up with his ex-girlfriend, he decided to move on and find a new relationship.
The Rapper claims that he even tried dating apps to find love, but he couldn't find his ideal partner there.
The rapper claimed that Chocolate City co-founder Audu Maikori later proposed that his wife Eniola Mafe get married.
In the most recent podcast episode of Tea With Tay, he talked about how he knew his wife was the one for him the moment he met her.
In his words:
“When I was ready to get married and wanted to meet someone, I thought, 'How do you meet someone as a celebrity? How do you date?' I even tried dating apps, but I didn't find my ideal woman there. So I thought I'd just ask people. I asked Audu (Maikori) and he said, 'There's a girl called Eniola Mafe.' And I thought, 'Let's see.' As he said it, I pulled her on Instagram. When I was younger, I always said that the woman I wanted to marry had an Afro. I pulled up her DP and she had an Afro.
“I went on her page and was like, 'Did you tell me this woman isn't married? Is it because she's divorced?' That was my first thought based on what I saw, what she looked like and the things she was doing. You know, when you see an opportunity like that, sit up. So I hit her up now. I followed her. The next day she saw something in my story; she responded to it and we started chatting. Once we started talking, we never stopped talking. The next time we spoke, we spoke for two hours. The third time we spoke, we spoke for three hours.
“When I met Eniola, I realized that I had just met someone whose story I wanted to continue to be a part of. And that's what marriage is. Everything else just flows from there.”
