The African Action Congress (AAC) 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has denied claims that he is jealous of his Labor Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi.
Speaking at a speech titled “MIC ON PODCAST” on Saturday, Sowore also stated that he is not obsessed with the former Governor of Anambra State and has no ill feelings towards him.
Sowore also claimed to have been instrumental in Obi's emergence as the LP presidential candidate, adding that he provided the document used to secure the latter's place in the party.
The media entrepreneur said he helped Obi by using his media platform, Sahara Reporters, to expose all plots by former President Obasanjo to oust him as Governor of Anambra.
He said: “Without me, Peter Obi would not have become the candidate of the Labor Party. I was the one who provided the document used by Femi Falana (SAN) to get Peter Obi into the Labor Party. And this isn't the first time I helped Peter Obi.
“When he was governor, former President Obasanjo then wanted to impeach him; I helped Sahara Reporters expose all the conspiracies against him. How could I be obsessed with a candidate who I know will end up the way he did?
“I don't wish for what Peter Obi had (OBIDient Movement). I don't wish for any movement that isn't real. If they were real, why couldn't they lift a finger when they were being deceived? Some OBidients managed to scare many people, especially on social media.
“Some people were afraid of them, but I was never afraid of them because I spoke my mind about Peter Obi no matter what they did to me.”
