IGP compares the attack by soldiers on Adamawa Police Station to the invasion of Boko Haram

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, on Tuesday condemned the attack by soldiers on the Adamawa State Police Command headquarters in Yola.

Egbetokun, while addressing officers and men of the Command during an official visit to the state, said: “Inspector Jacob Daniel was the duty officer of the Quarter Guard of this headquarters on Wednesday last week when he was killed during an invasion by some recalcitrant soldiers. .”

The IGP said the soldiers carried out the attack as Boko Haram terrorists.

He further stated: “They came as bandits, they behaved in a manner representative of Boko Haram.”

He, however, urged the men and officers of the Command not to be demoralized, stressing that authorities would ensure justice for the slain inspector.

Egbetokun also appealed to all members of the police who participated in security operations with other security operatives to remain engaged and discharge their normal duties.

He added: “What happened happened and I am sure the army is not happy about it either. We remain partners for the good of our country. Let your morale remain high.”
