"I'll turn 30 next year" - A woman laments, as she remembers how a friend dissuaded her from young marriage but proceeded to do so herself

A Nigerian woman has shared a story of how a friend deterred her from getting married early, only to wed her own partner shortly after.

She used her Twitter account to narrate the tale, mentioning she was in a relationship with a man who took her seriously at the time.

As per this soon-to-be 30-year-old woman, her then-boyfriend proposed marriage to her, but her friend dissuaded her by advising her to savor her singlehood.

Strangely, after offering her this advice, the same friend decided to get married and today, she is contentedly married with a kid.

Her exact words were…

“By the end of last year, I disclosed to my boyfriend that my then partner intended to propose to me. Upon hearing this, she laughed and stated, ‘You’re not looking forward to relishing your single life, huh.’, which led to me failing to accept his proposal. A year later, she has tied her knot and has a child, and here I am, on the verge of turning 30.”
