Isa Gusau, the media aide to the Borno governor, is dead

Governor Isa Gusau to Borno State Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, is dead.

Gusau's death was announced by the Borno State government in a statement on Friday. “We regret to inform that Mallam Isa Gusau died in the early hours of Thursday at a hospital outside the country after a battle with a heart problem,” the government said.

“Gusau was among the aides first appointed by Governor Zulum after he was sworn in on May 29, 2019.

“He had served in the same capacity when Governor Kashim @officialSKSM was Governor of Borno for eight years. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”

Senator Kashim Shettima, the current vice president to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appointed Gusau as a media aide early in his career. Shettima was governor of Borno State at the time.
