Ed Sheeran, the acclaimed British artist, discussed his experience with Afrobeat sensation, Burna Boy.
Sheeran confessed that he’s yet to encounter anyone with Burna Boy’s level of weed consumption.
He elaborated on his experiences with Burna Boy’s smoking habits during a recent episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast.
The artist behind ‘Shape Of You’ expressed his initial surprise upon entering the studio, which was filled with smoke from Burna Boy’s activities.
Sheeran went on to explain that Burna Boy’s weed consumption was unlike any he’s ever witnessed.
He stated, “Burna Boy, an artist I frequently work with, I can affirm… That’s the maximum I’ve observed someone consume marijuana.
“I went into the studio after a late-night performance. The place, quite chilly, was filled with hazy smoke because of the closed doors. Entering that room was quite an experience. It felt somewhat unreal (laughs).”

On another note, at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards which took place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, Atlanta, America on Tuesday, Burna Boy lost out on all seven of his nominations.
Burna Boy was beaten by rapper and filmmaker 50 Cent to the Hustler of the Year award, and his track ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ with 21 Savage lost out on the Best Collaboration of the Year to Lil Durk and J. Cole’s ‘All My Life.’
The award for best hip-hop video was also not his to claim for ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’, which was won by rapper Lil Uzi Vert and Song of the Year.
In other news, Black Sherif from Ghana claimed the Best International Flow category, defeating the likes of the late AKA and KO from South Africa, France’s Gazo and Ninho, Britain’s J Hus, Central Cee, and so on.
