Kidnappers release kidnapped Lagos PDP chairman

The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, who was abducted by some yet to be identified gunmen along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, has been released.

The news of his release was announced by the State Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode, in a brief statement at around 1.15am on Monday.

Amode said: “The Lagos PDP chairman has been released by the kidnappers.

“Hon Philip Olabode Aivoji, the PDP Chairman of Lagos State, is finally free after four days in the kidnappers' den.

“We take this opportunity to appreciate your prayers, especially as God's mercy was evident throughout.

“Thank you all for your concerns and prayers.”

Recall that Aivoji and some other party leaders were on Thursday kidnapped at the Ogere area of ​​the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while returning from the party's Stakeholders' Zonal Caucus meeting convened by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and held in Ibadan, the state capital.
