There was a high turnout at most polling places in the state capital Lokoja on Saturday for the Kogi governorship election.

Voting materials and staff from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) arrived early for the election, according to a Tribune reporter who visited polling stations in Lokoja.

Voter accreditation and voting in Kogi Hotel Tourism Board Voting Unit 067 Division A commenced at 8.30am as majority of voters had already queued up before the accreditation period.

Voters were observed waiting for their time to cast their votes at Polling Station 065, Ward A Saron Gari, where identical conditions occurred.

At polling station 068 section A, Baptist Plaza, voters behaved peacefully even without the presence of a security guard at the polling station.

Polling station 012 Ward A, Crowder Memorial College, also saw a huge turnout of voters and the elections went off without a hitch.
