Lagos orders immediate abandonment of trucks and tankers parked on the Apapa-Oshodi highway

The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led government has ordered trailers and tankers packed at Cele bus stop, towards Tincan Port axis, to leave the area immediately.

The Special Adviser on Transportation to the Governor of Lagos State, Sola Giwa, announced the directive in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement read: “The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Sola Giwa, said the directive underlines the commitment of the state government to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and address the disruptions caused by the continued presence of these heavy vehicles in the region to a minimum. specific location, saying the decision aims to improve the overall mobility experience for residents and commuters in the affected area.

“Government prioritises the safety and welfare of the public and emphasizes the importance of a clear and unobstructed road network, urging tanker and trailer drivers to comply with this directive or face sanctions in accordance with the state's transportation reform bill.”
