Yul Edochie, a well-known Nollywood actor often associated with controversy, has extended his congratulations to Nigeria’s 16th President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Vice President, Kashim Shettima, after their formal induction into office.
The actor, known for his outspoken nature, prayed that God would provide the necessary means for the duo to guide Nigeria towards a brighter future.
Edochie sent this message of congratulations and aspiration to Tinubu and Shettima via a tweet from his official account on Monday, following their inauguration.
He wrote, “Congratulations to our new President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT, His Excellency Kashim Shettima @KashimSM. I pray God grants you all the resources required to guide our nation to a greater tomorrow.”
The Presidential oath of office took place at the prestigious Eagles Square in Abuja on May 29. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, officiated the ceremony.
Tinubu, who triumphed over competitors including the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, Labor Party’s candidate Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party, swore to allegiance and unwavering loyalty to the Nigerian Constitution.
