Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, and Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, have teamed up to support the PDP in the South-Western Region.
The governor noted that the alignment will promote the unity and progress of the party, while speaking to newsmen just after a meeting with the Governor of Osun State at the reception area of the governor's office in Agodi, Ibadan.
Calling Adeleke his brother, Makinde stated that the growth of the South West Geographical Zone and the unity and well-being of the PDP were the key topics of discussion during their meeting.
He said, “As my brother said, we are one. We have discussed issues surrounding our party's unity in the South West and alignment and we are on the same page. I can assure you that we will do what we have to do.”
At the same time, Governor Adeleke commended Governor Makinde for his tremendous progress in Oyo State's infrastructure, noting that his administration had followed the example of Osun State in comprehensive infrastructure development.
He went on to say that after a heated debate, they both decided to agree on the South West PDP.
“I am proud to be here in Oyo State because we are brothers. I have just returned from my working holiday in Bangkok, Thailand, and I felt that from Lagos, I could not just go home, but visit my brother, Governor Seyi Makinde, to tell him that I am back am.
“I love him and I want to tell him that he is doing well in Oyo State. I want to give him a report card on the infrastructure he is doing in the state that has helped him win a second term.”
