The Labour Party (LP) refutes allegations of inconsistent certificates by presidential aspirant Peter Obi, terming them as baseless.
The Lamidi Apapa Faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, previously claimed marked inconsistencies between Obi’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and university certificates.
However, during a phone conversation with Vanguard, Obiora Ifoh, the LP’s National Publicity Secretary, insinuated that Arabambi is merely a puppet for his sponsors.
He was adamant that the integrity of Obi’s qualifications remains untainted.
Furthermore, Ifoh suggested that the Apapa faction is just attempting to undermine the LP and draw Nigerians’ attention away from scrutinizing President Bola Tinubu.
He pointed out that Obi had already publicized his grades and challenged Arabambi’s director to follow suit.
According to Ifoh, “Arabambi is certainly a pawn of his puppeteers, who are hell-bent on pulling down our party and diverting Nigerians from probing the dubious credentials of President Bola Tinubu.”
‘He needs to find a new strategy. Our nominee, Peter Gregory Obi, is a well-known figure whose background, birth, and academic records are beyond dispute.
“As Obi himself stated publicly, some of his university colleagues at the University of Nigeria Nsukka still hold prominent posts in the institution, which is easy to confirm.
“His academic certificates are in the public sphere, free for any curious Nigerian to inspect.”
“Obi did not, nor will he, deploy a team of attorneys to obstruct the release of his educational records; he got ahead of it by sharing those records himself. We dare Arabambi’s director to follow his lead to prevent our country from further embarrassment.”
