Juliana Balogun, the mother of famed Nigerian singer Wizkid, has been laid to rest in a moving ceremony. Her funeral service was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dideolu Estate, off Ligali Ayorinde St, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The artist, joined by his sisters, participated in a tribute night in memory of their beloved mother. This event took place on Thursday at Balmoral Hall, situated in the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Several public figures, inclusive of religious leaders, convened at the church on Friday to offer their sympathies to Wizkid’s family and to say their goodbyes to his mother.

In his address at the solemn event, a visibly distraught Wizkid shared, “I’m aware that this grief is felt by every member of my family. Our comfort lies in the fact that God in His boundless mercy will… the anguish won’t simply dissipate, so it’s not about eradicating the sorrow, but finding solace to carry on. God will console each of us.”
Wizkid was raised in a religiously diverse polygamous family, with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His father was married to three women.
