SHOCKER!!! Many injured as gunmen attack Delta lawmakers during parliamentary session

A large gang of armed thugs on Thursday invaded the legislative chamber of Ughelli Local Government Council in the South during a legislative meeting of the lawmakers and injured nine persons.

According to Vanguard, the thugs, who were armed with guns, machetes, battle axes and other dangerous weapons, used them freely on their victims, including five councilors, three council staff and the clerk who was stabbed in the head.

It took the timely intervention of a team of military personnel who came to the rescue of the lawmakers, arrested eighteen of the hoodlums and handed them over to the Ughelli Area Command Police for prosecution.

Giving details of the incident, House Leader December Saromare told Vanguard that the hoodlums also left the House with mace after smashing and destroying windows, furniture and other objects in the chambers.

Confirming the arrest of the hoodlums, a senior police officer at the Ughelli Area Command, who spoke on anonymity, told Vanguard that suspects have confessed to a top political office holder in the Ughelli South executive and three lawmakers in the council as the mastermind behind their attack on lawmakers.

According to the police source, “a blue and white colored twelve-seater bus with license plate JRT 455 XA and other dangerous weapons were recovered from the hoodlums.”
