The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has debunked reports claiming that the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, is blocking the release of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Onanuga noted that the news is aimed at stoking resentment against the governor and sabotaging his chances in the upcoming November 11 elections.

Onanuga wrote: “The fake news about Uzodimma.
“The people of Imo State should please ignore the fake news circulating that Governor Hope Uzodimma is blocking President Bola Tinubu’s release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
“The fake news is clearly intended to stir up some resentment against the governor, who has done very well for his people and who deserves a second term through Saturday’s elections.
“President Tinubu did not meet any Igbo businessmen on Monday. He did not say what was attributed to him. He did not blame Governor Uzodimma for anything.
“Sahara Reporters did not report the fake news. The link provided did not lead to the fake news on the Sahara Reporters platform.
