The Supreme Court has fixed January 13, 2024 (Friday) for judgment in the Kano State governorship appeals.
According to Daily Trust, the Secretary of the Legal Team of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Bashir Tudun Wuzirci, confirmed the development.
He said: “Yes, it has been officially confirmed. They told us to appear on Friday for the verdict.
“They told us that each party could have no more than two counsel present.
“According to them, this is because they will pronounce seven sentences that same Friday.”
Kano State Governor and NNPP candidate in the 2023 governorship election, Abba Kabir Yusuf, had appealed the judgment of the Court of Appeal which upheld his dismissal.
Recall that the Election Petition Tribunal had dismissed the governor and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 2023 elections.

Governor Yusuf, unhappy with the tribunal's verdict, approached the Court of Appeal, but the Court of Appeal, while upholding his resignation, had further ruled that the governor was not a member of the party at the time of the election was and could not fall under that. allegedly properly sponsored for the elections.
