Tinubu approves N18.4 billion to clear backlog of life insurance policies for deceased soldiers

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has approved $18.4 billion to clear arrears of group life insurance claims to the families of dead soldiers, which had been outstanding since 2011.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja made this known in Enugu on Tuesday during his operational visit to the 82nd Division of the Nigerian Army.

The army chief, however, charged the troops to remain loyal, disciplined and committed to eradicating all forms of crime in the country.

Lagbaja urged the troops not to be misled by fabricated lies and misinformation on social media, adding that the Nigerian Army had remained an epitome of discipline.

He added that the military would not spare any soldier or officer who would flaunt the established rules and laws of their host community or state.
