Three terrorists in Sokoto State have been neutralized by the Joint Task Force, Combined Forces of North West Operation Hadarin Daji.
The Nigerian Army said by carrying out a number of coordinated clearance and offensive operations in its areas of responsibility, it continued the attack on terrorists and ensured a hassle-free Christmas celebration.
The aggressive eviction operation that took place in Bauni village and forest in Sokoto on Thursday “led to a gun duel that lasted for several hours,” according to a statement on the verified X-handle.
On the other hand, it was reported that the aggressiveness and overwhelming weaponry of the army forced the terrorists to flee from their hideouts in confusion.
This enabled the troops to rescue six kidnapped victims, “while three terrorists were neutralized and 2 AK47 rifles were recovered, as well as 19 magazines, ammunition, 2 Dane weapons, motorcycles, radios (walkie-talkies) and other items.
“All discovered and recovered terrorist enclaves were immediately destroyed during the operation.”
