Rita Edochie, a well-known Nollywood star, recently visited the hospitalised actor, Mr. Ibu, who underwent a leg amputation.
Rita shared a video of herself in the hospital with Mr. Ibu’s spouse, Stella Maris Okafor, on Monday after getting news about the amputation of her colleague’s leg. Stella expressed her appreciation for Rita’s hospital visit.
In the shared video, Rita is heard offering prayers for the actor and his family which are constantly received with ‘Amen’ by Mr. Ibu’s wife.
In her video’s caption, Rita Edochie mentioned: “I went to visit Ibu John Okafor at Evercare Hospital Lekki Phase 1. Though he is doing well, we mustn’t cease our prayers for him.”

On October 31, Jazmine, daughter of Mr. Ibu stated that there had been a marked improvement in the actor’s health, following five successful surgeries.
However, on Monday, November 6, Jazmine confirmed that her father had to go through the trauma of having his leg amputated after a total of seven surgeries.
Making his 63rd milestone, the acclaimed comic actor celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, October 17, from a non-disclosed Lagos hospital. In an Instagram video shared the following day, he candidly expressed his need for financial assistance to prevent the amputation of his leg.
On October 21, it was reported that the Bukola Saraki Foundation had decided to finance the sick actor’s medical bills.
This happened after a video was circulated by Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris, where she accused that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) had falsely proclaimed their assistance to her husband. Kate Henshaw, the guild’s communications director, repudiated this allegation stating that AGN had indeed provided support to Mr Ibu.
