Ruth Eze highlighted that people might reassess their associations with Nollywood actors if they were aware of their behind-the-scenes lifestyle during filming.
Renowned Nollywood actress Ruth Eze is openly discussing her reluctance to marry a male actor in the industry.
Ruth said in an interview with PUNCH that she would be willing to marry a filmmaker, but she ruled out marrying another actor.
She explained why she thought it was disrespectful for actresses, married or not, to regularly bring food to actors on set.
She underscored that people might reassess their associations with Nollywood actors if they were aware of their behind-the-scenes lifestyle during filming.
“I can never marry a colleague. I can marry a filmmaker, but not an actor. When you see what they do on set during filming, even if they are married, you wouldn't want anything to do with them. Other girls come looking for them, and some even bring food.
“Imagine you are filming in Enugu and your family is in Asaba; you would see girls on set bringing food to them. Imagine being in love with such an actor and witnessing it. The only colleague I would have liked to marry is already married,” she said.
Speaking on privacy in a relationship or marriage, Ruth Eze stressed the importance of maintaining a low-key lifestyle, conscious of social media.
“Many people do not like others, especially in Nollywood in the east of the country. We don't love each other. I can't expose my relationship, or who I'm in love with.
“There is no actor in Nollywood, especially in Asaba (Delta State), that you would buy food for on set and they would eat it. Everyone is scared because of how dangerous that side is. When you choose any production, you are usually afraid. So to be careful, you have to buy your food,” she added.
