The former manager of esteemed Nigerian actor, John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, Emeka Chochoo, has disclosed the reason behind the actor’s leg amputation.
As Chochoo explained, the amputation was necessitated due to an undiscovered infection in the arteries close to the ankle.
In a Thursday interview with Punch, Chochoo confirmed the actor’s positive response to the treatment.
He stated, ‘I was with him up until yesterday. For over ten years, I have served as Mr. Ibu’s manager.
“His response to treatment is promising; he is gradually healing.
“The medical practitioners are addressing every issue step by step. The infection led to amputation, having affected one of the arteries situated near the ankle.
“Inadequate blood flow was detected late in the affected leg. The situation had become critical by the time attention was paid, necessitating the doctors to opt for amputation.
